Nancy F: I find it easier to just stick to the wellness routine for six full
days.  Since I physically feel better, I find myself not wanting to
completely blow it on my "free" day and have to cope with the sugar
highs and lows.  The surprising challenge has been not eating after 8
pm.  I had not realized how much I used to snack while watching late
night shows or movies!  Action adventure, munch munch!  Sigh.

Brent & Ellen S: We are seeing the difference right now based on what we are eating.  When we eat too much or take a day off, our bodies feel the difference of not eating as healthy.  They are getting use to the new diet and exercise and we like it.

Veronica A: I am amazed at how I am not really craving sweets that much at all anymore.  That was the biggest reason I did this challenge...because I was grabbing treats here and there and expecting dessert regularly.  I love that it is now truly a special treat that I save my "point" for and then really cherish.  I am surprised with the increased exercise and better eating that I have only lost 1 pound.  A bit discouraging, but I do feel better...and that's the point, right?

Shannon L: It was hard at times this week. I find if I don't plan my meals for the day, I am more apt to grab whatever when I'm hungry. It's been 21 days, so the good habits should be a habit by now, right? There's always room for improvement the next 21. Keep it up, everyone!

Claudine T: Since I got really sick the first week of the contest, I knew this journey was not going to be about winning for me since I could never probably catch up.  Being as competitive as I am, this is what I needed to happen to get the real journey I am to be taking during this contest; not focusing on winning just to win...focusing on me for my well-being no matter how many points I achieve each week.  I need to take the pressure off of me and focus on my well-being.  Lesson learned!

Tonja F: Fruits and veggies were the death of me this week!

Lisa Rad: Doing this challenge isn’t about weight loss for me….it’s about finding more balance in my world.  Right now it’s soooo stressful that it is hard to think about much else except my kids health (he has a compromised immune system…and no, it not due to AIDS).  He has been sick, and the bacteria is resistant to the antibiotic; and if the antibiotic is working, he’s becomes allergic to it…OY!   Poor kid is covered with rashes, very itchy, not responsive to the usual or unusual helps…and it’s just hard!   Thank goodness for the journal!  It has kept me somewhat sane…(I haven’t been a journal person…I want to be, but it’s not easy me for write in it).  I can breathe for a moment, think of something else, and remember that “inch by inch, step by step, slowly and surely, things will get done”.    I use that saying for everything!    It keeps me sane.  It appears that if I write some of my thoughts down, I don’t have to have as many negative thoughts circling in my head  incessantly,  and it puts a more positive and calm spin on my brain, and therefore, my day.  I do so love that.  I’m telling you, I believe that a good cup of coffee and your journal is waaay better than a therapist any old day!

Nancy S: I love this. I feel so healthy!

Carmie B: Just had a blood panel can't wait to see the results - better be good after all this hard work!!

Rahel M: Writing everything down I ate seems tedious but helps a lot.

Jessica L: I just want to say that I am very proud of my mom being at the hospital all week with Julieann and she still made 70 points for the week!  Go Mamma Jo!

Kirsten P: I had another great week.  Still hydrated!!  Loving it!  I am not so tempted by not being able to drink soda or eat fast food or sweets...I didn't do that often anyway.  But to get 48 oz of water in me...that's my challenge.  I had 70 points again only for the fact that I can have a free square.  If those freebies are ever pulled...the challenge is REALLY on!!
